Chapter 109: A Sinister Gaze
For a moment, Aryana looked troubled. There seemed to be something strange with Cassie but she cannot put a finger to it.
She looked at the blue rose lying on the table. She noticed that there was another beautifully wrapped box beside it. When she opened the gift, it was a flower vase made from porcelain. It looked expensive. She checked the card and the initial is the same letter C from the other day.
She took out the rose from the box and placed it in the vase then she brought it Camille’s table.
"It is so beautiful! It must be expensive. Are you giving this to me?" Aryana nodded and she proceeded to the pantry to make coffee for Erik.
She opened the door to Erik’s office but was met by Erik’s impatient voice.
"Didn’t I tell you I didn’t want to be disturbed?" Erik did not look at her as he was engrossed with what Cassie was showing on her tablet, while he was nibbling a cookie.
Aryana was shocked. It took her some time before she found her voice.
"I am sorry boss! I didn’t know you have a guest." She tried her best to sound professional and not show the hurt in her voice.
She hurried towards his table and put down the coffee.
Erik registered surprise to see it was Aryana. He thought she was still asleep.
"I thought it’s Camille. Do want some cookie?" Erik offered her the box. Aryana thought for a while and was about to grab the one Erik was offering when Cassie hurriedly said,
