Chapter 35: Her pastime
When Aryana went back to her workstation she was surprised to see Julia waiting for her.
"Where have you been. It’s only your first day and you are already slacking off." Julia’s gaze was filled with hostility.
"The CEO called me Miss Lopez. I came from his office." Aryana replied calmly.
Julia’s right eyebrow arched upwards. She clenched her fists.
"What did you talk about?" Julia tried to mask the anger in her voice but Aryana was still able to sense it.
"It is just a few reminders. Er... Mr. Lee told me about the party for new hires this Friday." She was about to call Erik by his name but corrected herself in time.
’I should be wary of her. Looks like she is a difficult person to deal with.’ Aryana thought.
"I see. Continue with your work then." She threw Aryana a cold glance before turning away.
’So she was the reason why my lunch date with Erik ended abruptly.’ She gritted her teeth.
"Uhmmm. Why do I sense that Julia doesn’t like you?" Elaine who was standing beside her said softly as she was afraid that someone will hear her.
Aryana looked around. "Maybe she feels threatened by me." She lowered her voice.
