Chapter 567: A scream
Qin Yan really adored the little guy. He was talented at everything. He could learn everything at a really fast pace. Also, he looked absolutely adorable. Who wouldn’t like such an adorable and intelligent child!
As Qin Yan tended to the barbecue, the gentle breeze carried the earthy scent of the nearby river, creating a serene atmosphere. The rhythmic sizzling of skewers on the grill provided a comforting soundtrack to the picturesque scene. Amidst this peaceful setting, a subtle rustling emanated from the nearby bushes, catching Qin Yan’s attention like a faint whisper in the tranquility.
She furrowed her brows, a twinge of concern flashing across her face. It wasn’t just a casual rustling; there was an unspoken unease that seemed to cling to the sound. The melody of nature, once harmonious, now felt interrupted, and Qin Yan couldn’t shake the feeling that something might be amiss.
Setting down the barbecue utensils, she turned to the little guy with a warm smile, "Darling, Mommy will be right back. Stay here, okay?" Her words carried both reassurance and a silent promise as she caressed his cheek.
The little guy gazed at Qin Yan and being an extremely smart child, he understood that something was wrong. He could see his mommy’s serene expression turning into a worried one.
"Okay mommy, take care!"
As Qin Yan cautiously stepped into the bushes, the rustling sound grew fainter, and the surroundings enveloped her in a quiet mystery. Despite her careful observation, there was nothing immediately noticeable – just the gentle sway of branches and the soft whispers of the wind.
Just as Qin Yan was about to turn back, a sudden and piercing scream cut through the air. Panic seized her heart, and an involuntary gasp escaped her lips. The serene atmosphere shattered, replaced by an urgent sense of dread. Without a second thought, she sprinted back towards their picnic spot.
Meanwhile, the little bun, left alone with the picturesque scenery, heard a scream that sounded like his mommy’s and immediately sensed something was wrong. Fear clouded his innocent eyes as he clutched his little backpack and instructed his bodyguards, "Go check on Mommy! Hurry!"
The bodyguards, seasoned and trained for moments of crisis, reacted with swift determination upon hearing Qin Yan’s scream. Their immediate response was a synchronized sprint towards the source of the distress, their footsteps echoing the urgency of the situation.
As they closed in on Qin Yan, she was already on edge, her eyes wide with concern. The sudden appearance of her son’s bodyguards racing towards her intensified the atmosphere of apprehension. She looked at them, her voice filled with both anxiety and urgency, "What happened?"
