Chapter 566: A day out
With the little guy still in her embrace, Qin Yan gently whispered, "Tomorrow, I promise we’ll have a day just for us. We’ll do whatever you want, okay? I’ll make it up to you, my little one."
As Qin Yan made the promise, she felt the little guy’s small frame relax in her embrace. The tension in his expression gradually gave way to a spark of hope, and his eyes, once clouded with disappointment, began to light up. In a mixture of excitement and a hint of disbelief, he looked up at Qin Yan and asked, "Really, Mommy? You’ll take me out tomorrow? Will it be just the two of us? Daddy won’t come along, right?"
The anticipation in his voice reflected the longing for a day filled with his mommy’s undivided attention. He did not want Xi Ting to accompany them as he won’t get his mommy’s full attention if his father tagged along.
Qin Yan smiled warmly at the little one and nodded, "Absolutely, my darling. It’ll be just you and me, no distractions. We’ll have our special time together. Daddy won’t tag along; it’s our day."
As Qin Yan confirmed that it would be a day exclusively for them, the little bun’s lingering disappointment melted away. A sense of reassurance washed over him, and a genuine smile broke across his adorable face. The promise of an undivided day with his mommy, without any distractions, finally eased his heart, and he nestled into her embrace with a contented sigh.
After this, Qin Yan guided the little one to his room, tucked him into bed, and shared a soothing bedtime ritual. As she whispered sweet words of comfort, the little one’s eyes gradually grew heavy. Qin Yan lingered for a moment, brushing a gentle kiss on his forehead, before dimming the lights and leaving the room.
In her room, Xi Ting was waiting for her. He knew that his son was going to confront Qin Yan and he could do nothing about it. He had tried to console the little bun but he failed to succeed. The little one was adamant on confronting Qin Yan and he would be consoled by her only. Thus, in order to not disturb them, Xi Ting retreated back to his own room and waited for Qin Yan.
When Qin Yan entered the room, Xi Ting looked at her and first inquired about the award ceremony, "How was the ceremony? I saw the livestream. Are you okay with revealing your identity?"
"Yes," Qin Yan sighed. She was really tired after the events of the entire day. She prepared for taking a shower during which she replied to Xi Ting, "I don’t really care now. I can protect myself and you are also here for providing me with additional protection. So, I don’t think that anyone from the industry can pose me any danger."
