Chapter 517: Going to C Nation
With a sense of determination, Han Cheng decided to gather information about Nie Qinyu’s whereabouts. The possibility of an encounter with his love rival loomed large, and Han Cheng needed to assess the situation before making a decision about attending the auction in C Nation’s capital city.
After discreet inquiries, Han Cheng received the information he sought. Fortunately, it turned out that Nie Qinyu was on a business trip to A Nation, alleviating the immediate concern of an awkward confrontation.
Learning of Nie Qinyu’s absence, Han Cheng felt a sense of relief wash over him. The hurdle that had held him back was now removed, and he could contemplate attending the auction without the shadow of past tensions.
Finally, Han Cheng drove home. He stepped into the warm embrace of his home, the familiar surroundings offering a sense of solace. Fang Zichen, engaged in a joyful conversation with Chu Xing, looked up when Han Cheng entered.
Han Cheng hugged his wife with a soft smile, "Zichen, there’s something important I need to discuss with you."
Fang Zichen looked at her husband with concern flickering in her eyes as she focused on her husband.
"What is it, Cheng? Is everything okay?"
Han Cheng approached her, taking her hands gently in his, "There’s an auction in C Nation’s capital, and they’ll be selling a 1000-year-old ginseng. It could be beneficial for your health. I think that we should go together."
Fang Zichen’s face turned pale on hearing Han Cheng’s words. The past memories which she had suppressed for the last few years, came haunting to her. The idea of going to C Nation was so repressive to her that even hearing about it made her heart solemn.
Han Cheng was not surprised to witness the change in his wife’s emotions. He gently cupped Fang Zichen’s face and assured her, "Zichen, don’t worry, I am with you and will always be with you. You won’t see anyone that you don’t wish to. It’s my promise to you."
Fang Zichen gazed deep into Han Cheng’s eyes as if assessing the truth behind his words. Her eyes soon softened as Han Cheng’s reassurance sank in. She took a deep breath and replied, "Okay, we will go together."
