Chapter 516: Chu Xing
Qin Yan was not bothered by the popularity of Dr. Q. Instead, she was busy with her own work. Since Xu Dong was injured, the managerial work of Starlight Entertainment had fallen on her shoulders. Thus, she was even busier than usual.
As she was sorting out some scripts in her hand, Xi Ting entered the living room with measured steps, the soft glow of the evening sunlight filtering through the curtains, casting a warm and serene ambiance in the room. He took a seat beside Qin Yan on the comfortable, well-worn couch.
Seeing Xi Ting sit near her, Qin Yan put down her work and looked towards him. Him sitting so quietly beside her was rare as in normal conditions, Xi Ting would either tease her or sit opposite to her doing his own work.
"What’s the matter?" Qin Yan asked carefully.
Xi Ting gazed into Qin Yan’s eyes and replied, "The results of the investigation regarding your DNA test are out."
Qin Yan, sitting beside Xi Ting, exuded a sense of quiet anticipation. Her gaze was fixed on him, her eyes searching for answers, "Did you find anything?"
Xi Ting nodded, his tone unwaveringly steady, "I’ve investigated Fang Zichen and Han Cheng, and it turns out they are going to adopt a daughter named Chu Xing."
Qin Yan listened to Xi Ting’s revelation about the adoption of Chu Xing with a mixture of emotions, but as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place, a new suspicion started to emerge in her mind. She had always been a perceptive person, and this revelation raised questions that couldn’t be ignored.
With a thoughtful expression, she turned to Xi Ting and said, "Ah Ting, it seems that Chu Xing had a hand in interfering with the DNA test results. If the results had shown that I was Fang Zichen’s biological daughter, it would have meant that I stood to inherit her property and assets."
While Fang Zichen might not have had significant assets of her own, everyone knew that Han Cheng’s assets were predominantly in his wife’s name. This was because Han Cheng loved Fang Zichen dearly and he felt that everything he earned should belong to his wife.
Xi Ting nodded in agreement with Qin Yan, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.
