Chapter 132: The decision
"Lei Lei, did you think properly before making this decision? The state you are in is because of entertainment industry. Don’t you think that a peaceful life is what you need the most?" Xu Dong wanted Xu Lei to consider her decision again.
"Brother, I think you are wrong in this matter. We both suffered because we trusted the wrong people. It is not like we have been targeted because we are in entertainment industry. What if you do a regular nine to five job? Do you think that there would be no schemes in corporate world?" Xu Lei added, "Suppose you are due for a promotion and your colleague is due too. But only one of you can get it. You can then be targeted by that colleague too."
Xu Lei continued, "It is not the matter of one career. This type of people can cross our path anytime anywhere. We need to be careful while choosing our trusted ones. This is what I learnt from this incident of ours."
"Moreover, the reason for your decision to leave the entertainment industry is not justified. It is just like if you happen to be in a road accident, would you stop coming out of your home?" Xu Lei concluded.
The Xu family was extremely surprised at Xu Lei’s answer. Normally, it was very difficult for a person who had undergone such a huge change in her life to think carefully. People slip into depression after realising that their life is ruined.
But Xu Lei turned out to be different. Although she had lost the hope of being a normal person, she still had her mind clear when asked what would she do if her legs could be cured. This attitude was really commendable.
Mother Xu and Father Xu looked proud while listening to their daughter. They also felt happy after understanding that their daughter still had some hopes and dreams in her mind.
Xu Dong fell deep into thought after listening to his little sister. Every word of Xu Lei pierced his heart straight away. It was like he had gained a new understanding and a new point of view of the situation.
’Yes, bad people are everywhere. Entertainment industry is infamous as the scandals get surfaced because of constant attention of different paparazzi. But this did not mean that other industries were absolutely clean. It was just that their scandals were hidden because very few people try to unearth them,’ Xu Dong thought calmly.
