Transmigrated: The Lycan King's Pet

Chapter 166 A Dance with Him

The tall golden doors at the far end of the ballroom opened slowly, and the sound of music softened as if it paused in respect, and every conversation fell silent.

Even the butterflies circling the chandeliers seemed to hover midair, glowing softly as if to pay respect.

Everyone rose to their feet.

I stood too, smoothing the folds of my gown as I turned toward the entrance.

The King of Fae stepped into the ballroom, followed by two guards but he walked several paces ahead of them, his long white and golden robe trailing behind him gracefully. His hair was a shining silver, almost the color of the moon, and a thin golden crown circled his head, resting just above his brow.

His presence was commanding enough to hold the attention of the room.

His gaze swept across the ballroom slowly, pausing on some of the nobles, before drifting forward again. When his eyes met mine, they held for a second longer than they did with the others.

Every step he took echoed lightly on the marble floor, and the crowd instinctively stepped aside to make room. No one dared to whisper, and no one tried to catch his attention.

He stopped directly in front of me. For a moment, he didn’t utter a word. He simply looked at me, his expression unreadable.

Then he turned to face the room.

"You may be seated," his voice rang out, deep and commanding. "I welcome you all to this evening’s celebration."

People returned to their seats, carefully and quietly.
