Chapter 196 - 196 Cheer You Up
Xavier and Star arrived at the dining table, the dishes were already set and food was being served by the maids.
Xavier's mother sat down at the other side with a smile on her face while Xavier and Star sat opposite her, it was only the three of them at the table.
She couldn't stop smiling as Xavier was in front of her. Before today, she had no idea what she was going to do, she had been cooped up in her room for some days now and eating less every day, but miraculously her son survived.
Xavier tasted the food and closed his eyes to savor the delicious taste. It had been days since he had food this good.
Star also took a bite and was surprised at the taste, immediately both of them dug in eating like this was their last earth on the planet till the food was gone.
Xavier's mother ate just a little, and soon the maids were clearing out the dishes.
"How was the food?" She asked.
"It was delicious, thank you... It's been a long time since I ate something this wonderful" Xavier replied and turned to Star.
"It was good" Star spoke.
"Mum, what happened to Lilith? Is she alive?" Xavier asked.
He knew that after he left her with the beastkin that attacked them, she was somehow defeated because the beastkin continued to the palace, so either she was dead or injured.
"She's alive, she is in her shed outside, she just doesn't like to come outside anymore as she was injured, and also she blames herself for what happened to you" She replied.
"Me? Why would she..." Xavier stopped, he could understand it but she really didn't need to, he was the one who put himself in the situation that got him teleported.
"I'm going to see her" Xavier spoke as he stood up and walked towards the door, Star followed behind.
Lilith has a separate house outside the main house, she didn't want to live inside so another tiny house was created just for her, it was called a shed but it was really just a tiny house and it had everything. Usually, Lilith spends her time in front of the house.
Xavier arrived at the door and knocked on it, then he heard a sound from the inside.
"Coming" Lilith spoke as she knew it was just maids bringing her a meal.
The moment she opened the door, she froze... Xavier also didn't speak and just looked at her, she was a beastkin, and her injuries healed faster than a normal human, but her nose was covered, and she was missing an arm, other than that she looked fine.
"Lilith" Xavier muttered.
"Young master? Is that you?" Lilith muttered as she looked at him.
"Yes, I'm home" Xavier replied.
"How, I thought you...I was told... I'm sorry" Lilith spoke as she looked down and surprisingly tears were rolling down her face.
"As you can see, I'm not dead" Xavier spoke with a smile on his face as he stepped inside, Star didn't follow him in as she walked away looking around.
"We were told you..." Lilith stopped, she didn't want to complete the sentence.
"I wasn't killed; instead, I was teleported away, but it didn't seem like a normal teleportation so I can see why Mia would think I was killed, but I somehow survived" Xavier replied.
"I shouldn't have tried to fight, I should have gone with you" Lilith spoke.
"You did what was best, the fault was coming outside the academy in the first place, what happened after we left?" Xavier asked pointing to her hand.
"I was defeated, utterly defeated...it turns out that beastkin was a nine-tailed fox and I stood no match from the beginning, it was just playing with me"
"After you left, it began casting spells, spells I've never seen in my life, and with no defense against them, I was caught off guard, I did manage to get away with my arms cut off, most of my ribs broken, and my face destroyed" Lilith continued.
"Most of my injuries could be healed though so I survived somehow, I still haven't gotten my sense of smell back, and I've tried training but I'm slower now compared to before and I have to learn to fight with just one arm" Lilith spoke as she sighed looking at her ceiling.
"Your fighting style doesn't need a sword, that's probably why you're having problems, you should use a sword, maybe we should duel, it might cheer you up" Xavier suggested.
"Really, are you stronger now?" Lilith asked with a smile on her face.
"Well, we'll see..." Xavier spoke as she stood up and walked outside.
Lilith didn't follow immediately as she changed into something more comfortable for dueling. Initially, she was wearing a long robe, but now Xavier could see the exact place her arm was cut.
Both of them walked towards the training area, just some steps away from the main building and Star watched as both of them stopped in front of the weapons there.
"Should we use steel swords?" Lilith asked as a joke but Xavier didn't answer and just grabbed a steel sword from the weapon rack they had.
"I was joking, you really don't mind using steel swords?"
"I don't mind, it's not like I'm going to get hurt" Xavier answered with a smug look on his face.
"I'll wipe that smug off your face" Lilith spoke as both of them grabbed wooden swords while Star sat down in the grass watching them.
'At least she's smiling again, now let's see how much stronger I've gotten, if I use my full capabilities I'll win the fight without much difficulty, but I'll try not using spells for a change'
Lilith stepped away creating space between them and Xavier stretched his body then tightened his grip on the sword and locked eyes with Lilith, without being told she already knew Xavier wasn't joking.
"This is a good chance to reassure myself, I'll test his power then adjust to fit" Lilith spoke but she had no idea what happened next.
