Chapter 61: Battle With The Lover Boy
Cail noticed that the cloud seemed to only give a vague indication of his location... like the area but not the specific spot where he was standing.
"This is salvageable." His eyes darted around. He put Veyr on the ground and asked, "Can you help me get out of this mess?" He had no guilt or shame whatsoever in asking a child for help.
Veyr looked like he was the one being chased. His lips were pale, and the dried tears and blood in his eye made his face look very pitiful. He said, "The artifact that I am using seals the majority of my power."
"Who let you use that? And you agreed to it?" Cail found a hidden spot and stuffed Veyr into it.
Veyr was very cooperative. He dug himself deeper into the spot. When he finally managed to position himself, he looked Cail in the eyes and answered, "My brother told me to. My brother won’t harm me."
Cail, who was about to rush out, heard that response. He paused and looked at Veyr in disbelief. "Oh, how innocent. I never knew you were this cute."
Time was running out. Cail pinched Veyr’s cheeks, saw him redden, and gave him a bracelet similar to what he had given that white woman before. "Stay here. But if this place gets damaged by the fight, you’re a smart little guy! You can find a way."
Then, before rushing out, he looked at Veyr and made a gesture of pointing at his eyes and then at Veyr, meaning, I’m watching you.
Veyr looked away from him, pouting.
...
Cail panted. "This level of physical exertion... I have never done this before, not even during those times when I was messing around." He was dragging his injured body and was flirting with death at this point.
