When Did I Become An Artifact Dealer?!

Chapter 60: Grand Melee

BANG!

Cail shot the speaker with his rifle. It was overkill, but enough to vent his frustration. It was irritating to hear his own voice targeting him like that.

Is this piece of shit a parallel version of me?!

Veyr was confused. He looked at the fallen speaker in shock then at Cail. "What do we do now?" His lips were pale from fear.

"Little brat! Why are you panicking?!" Cail slung his rifle back over his shoulder. "I’m the one being targeted, not you."

He slammed his tiny fist against Cail’s legs. Veyr was crying, "You scum! I’m sure you won’t let me go so you’ll probably be dragging me around like a tail! Even if I escape, you would find a way to pull me back to your boat!" While he looked pretty ugly crying blood mixed with tears, one could say that he did have an understanding of Cail.

Cail carried him. The bulge on the ground vanished, so there was nothing left to explore here. This tunnel was well hidden, but not knowing where the other exit led was bad.

He ran through the tunnel. A sharp pain still poked at his internal organs.

"It was fortunate that he did not say what my ability is." But Cail could understand. He knew that Virehn, a person with a similar ability to his own, probably didn’t want to know Cail’s ability since both of them have the same ability.

"There should be a way to track me," Cail reasoned. He had no reference for what kind of person Virehn was, so Cail had to use himself.

"If it was me, I’d attach some kind of tracker to the key in order to track the holder if I was doing a hunting game." Cail hadn’t seen anything so far, so he had no idea what it was. "But I’m the basis. This hunting game is going to be grand, exciting, and bloody."
