The Chapter opens with Adam standing rigidly in the dimly lit alley, his mind swirling with confusion and disbelief. Before him are Sona and Tayo—perfect replicas of his creations—staring him down with cold, unfamiliar gazes. Their refusal to acknowledge him has shaken Adam to his core.
"I don’t understand..." Adam mutters under his breath, his voice barely audible. His chest tightens as he tries to make sense of the surreal situation. How can they not recognize me?
Ani, standing beside him, watches Adam’s reaction intently. Though she’s unsure of what’s happening, she can sense the weight of his emotions. "Adam," she says softly, placing a hand on his arm, "what’s going on? Why do they look like Sona and Tayo?"
Adam doesn’t respond immediately. Instead, he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, attempting to calm the storm raging within him. His thoughts are interrupted by the sound of Sona’s clone speaking.
"You’re wasting your time," the clone says sharply, her tone laced with disdain. "We don’t know you, and we certainly don’t follow your orders."
Her words cut deep, but they also ignite a spark of determination within Adam. If these aren’t my creations, he thinks, then the real Sona and Tayo must still be out there. I need to find them.
Adam quickly focuses his thoughts and activates his telepathic link with the real Sona. His voice, filled with urgency and worry, echoes in her mind. "Sona! Where are you? I need you—right now!"
At that moment, miles away, the real Sona is perched outside Robin’s house, keeping a vigilant watch alongside Tayo. Her glowing wings shimmer faintly in the moonlight as she hears Adam’s desperate call.
"Lord Adam?" she replies telepathically, her voice tinged with concern. "What’s wrong? You sound... distressed."
