Chapter 140: The Transformation
Note: I’m sorry for this. But know this was her destiny. Nothing can stay pure forever. All hearts are meant to break*** The following evening, they woke up early, checked in with everyone about their arrival for the surprise graduation party they were throwing their daughter. Everything was ready.
The drive to school wasn’t long. But sitting in the crowd waiting for their daughter to go up on stage was torture. Ash felt like it would have been better to have his fingernails ripped out then listen to all these stupid speeches.
But finally, Odette approached the stage, she wore and flowing elegant black dress, she looked like stars that painted the night sky.
Odette moved with swift fluid motions. Every step perfectly calculated and deliberate. She has her grandfather’s sword as her dancing partner. And It truly looked like she was dancing with death. The sword had seen many wars and taken many lives.
With her wind abilities and her telekinesis in perfect sync she floated across the floor, never once stepping on to the stage. The sword would lunge for her, and she’d jump in the air and roll before reaching the ground she’d stop with her hand outstretched. Pushing off with her magic she spun back upwards, narrowly missing the sword that flew around her.
She twisted her body. the way she moved, it was like death was courting her. Effortlessly, with the grace of a goddess, she had the audience completely enthralled with her.
Perfection. That’s all anyone could think. Even the haunting eyes from the shadows.
Ash had felt an unsettling presence since their arrival, but he was confident they had enough people they could handle it.
After Odette’s performance the audience screamed and hollered with a rolling applause. She left the stage and took her seat among the other graduates.
Once the speeches were over and the graduates collected their diplomas, they threw their hats in the air and sheered and clapped.
