Chapter 107: Queen
After gathering her strength and sharing energy with Ash, she felt recharged, like things in her world were finally falling into place. Her life would get better from here. No more attacks by Riley or from wolves. She has her own power, love, and a baby on the way.
Feeling the warmth of love inside her, she looked like a beacon of hope to those injured in the hospital. She went through every room that accepted her, touched them and took their pain away. Asher couldn’t be more impressed with Violet. She went from being this weak mousy, small girl to this powerful, uplifting light in everyone’s life. He couldn’t be any more in awe of someone capable of bringing so much hope to every damned soul she encounters. Her uncanny ability to be pure even living in world of cold cruelty and darkness she maintained her benevolence and warmth.
It was late into the night by the time they had gotten through the all of the patients injured in the attack and even some family members with the pain of their loss.
"You’re incredible. You know that?" Ash gazed in amazement at the woman skipping in front of him.
"I know." She looked back and winked.
Ash smiled and shook his head at her innocent child-like gesture.
She seemed totally fine, even after all the things she went through in the last 36 hours.
"You ready to go home? Theres still a lot of things we need to settle and take care of." Ash asked holding the car door open for Violet.
"Thanks." She says sliding into the front seat, smiling. "Oh, and yes, I need to call Rosa, I haven’t spoken to her since..." Her words trailed off and a saddening silence stretched between them in the car. Violet was assaulted with flash backs of that night. The smell of blood clinging to her nostrils. The feeling of fear and rage coming from both shifter and vampires. The screams that send chills down her spine and pain in her.
Violet lost in the memories whimpers as she covers her ears. Her drumming heart beating with the cries that replayed over and over. She shook her and yelled "Go away, go away, go away!" But they didn’t listen the images just repeated in her head.
Ash pulled the car over and took Violet into his arms, "Shh... it’s okay baby. Shh... You’re safe now, I’ve got you." Ash held her close and rocked her back and forth while she sobbed in his arms.
