Chapter 113: The Ivory Dress
"No, Miss. This card has no limit. You could buy everything in this boutique right now with just this card, and we would close the store for the day," the boutique attendant explained with a warm smile when Lethia asked about the card’s maximum limit.
Her gaze was fixed longingly on the sleek card in Lethia’s hand.
Lethia wondered if she could buy out the entire city with it. She knew the Tuffin family controlled many kinds of businesses, but did their wealth truly know no bounds? Not likely, there were still plenty of Lycans, alpha wolves, and even humans who held greater influence.
"Miss, so, would you like to purchase all the high-end pregnancy dresses then?" the boutique attendant’s voice snapped her from her thoughts.
Lethia’s gaze flickered toward the display of maternity dresses the attendant had pointed out earlier.
She walked over, her fingers lightly brushing through the racks, feeling the textures and scanning the shades. Most of them were dull empire-waist or A-line cuts, clearly designed to hide baby bumps. Lethia scoffed softly—utterly unimpressed.
Then her eyes caught on an ivory one-shoulder dress made of stretchy knit fabric that looked heavenly soft. A smile tugged at her lips.
"I’ll take that one," she said, pointing straight at the dress on the mannequin.
"Oh my, you really have good taste, Miss. That’s our latest design, and extremely rare. But... even though it’s bodycon and stretchy, it will show your baby bump."
"So what?" Lethia’s sharp response and cutting glare made the attendant visibly flinch.
"Ehm... You said it’s for the Lykon Gala, right? I thought... you might be uncomfortable showing your pregnancy at such an event."
