As a result, a team of investigators from the Church of Justice confirmed, after checking Matilda’s blood sample, that it was the result of high-concentration World Tree fruit potions taken within a short period—several potions, while purifying the viruses in Matilda’s body, also ignited her bloodline’s path to evolution. Typically, a big-eared fox like Matilda would just be a small fox kind of orc, not a real warrior race orc (like bearfolks or Panthos catfolks), but this blessing in disguise led to an improvement in physical fitness, and she also awakened Magician abilities.
Magician was an even rarer existence than Mages, and entirely different from Wizards, who gain powers that originally don’t belong to them through potions and contact with Subspace.
Magicians, however, automatically gain a few Spell Formations every day. The Spell Formation table is fixed, but it’s safe and without side effects; after they are used up, all one needs to do is eat well, drink well, sleep well, live well, and the next day, these Spell Formations can be used again.
This made Matilda very happy, as the Fox Girl had long envied Faye’s and Clovis’s crude combat methods full of explosive Fireball Spells. However, when she first confirmed her Spell Formation table, she was deflated—there were four Spell Formations: two level-zero tricks, one Dance of Light Spell, and one Flash Spell.
The former creates a light source; the latter is a close-range self-immune flash.
