Malin spent the entire morning dealing with those four tykes’ parents, all of whom seemed to have boundless energy. Whenever Malin got to some particularly exciting parts, Roben’s father would even ramp up his acting.
And I have to say, it worked quite well—at least much more reliable than a certain lady. Every time Malin saw her smack her son’s head, his only thought was, "If you don’t lighten up, Cassie is surely going to die."
Malin really had no idea how Cassie’s elven father fell for that northern lady.
Well, every family has its issues. After finally sending them off, Engma and Cassie said they were leaving, and Logan mentioned something about using a spell to fix his teeth.
"You’re not leaving?" Malin asked, looking at Cohen standing beside him.
"I’m about to go see my cousin, aren’t I? The kid isn’t dumb, he managed to guess what’s up after catching just bits of information, and even bothered you to leave me an intact body." Cohen said as he gestured to a carriage by the roadside, "You’re heading back to the hotel, right?"
"Yeah, let’s go together. I’m planning to hit the arena with my mentor this afternoon to see what the fuss is about and perhaps fight a couple of rounds myself." Malin was quite eager to try since he heard that everyone up there was a skilled fighter, and nobody would want to get up there and make a fool of themselves, so Malin was impatient to test his skills.
After all, constantly walloping all sorts of apprentices had left Malin struggling to grasp just how far he was from the real Transcendent World.
