Chapter 46: Rin, The Chef!
Rin trudged toward the kitchen with Niblet trailing after him. His bare feet padded softly against the cold marble floor, and he couldn’t help but glance around as they walked.
The hallway was dark and gloomy, but the second he opened the kitchen door, his breath caught.
"Holy... wow."
The kitchen was huge. No, huge didn’t even cover it... It was massive. It looked like a high-end culinary studio wrapped in pristine white marble and black counters that gleamed like they were polished daily. Rin blinked, expecting to see at least one sign of life... Perhaps... burnt crumbs, a faint smell of garlic... anything.
But there was nothing. The place was so clean, it was suspicious.
"Has anyone ever cooked here?" Rin whispered to himself.
Niblet barked once, sniffing around the floor with clear disinterest. Rin walked further in, trailing his fingers along the counters, as he was looking for some clue like a detective. He opened a few drawers and found the usual pots and pans... Except they weren’t the usual kind. Not the kind he had seen before.
"Okay... what the hell is this?" he muttered.
The pans were light, almost weightless, with runes etched along the handles. The pots glowed faintly when he touched them.
"Ohhh! Do they cook themselves?" Rin said, half-joking. "I’d love that."
He pulled a few out and set them on the counter. Then he began his hunt for ingredients.
He spotted a door on the far side of the kitchen and pushed it open. A gust of chilled air brushed against him. It was a storeroom... no, a magical food vault. The shelves lined the walls, stacked neatly with everything from vegetables to meat cuts, cheeses, and spices.
