Chapter 988: Say It and Leave
"I need to talk to you," An Ru said with a smile. Since she last saw Jiang Xue, her condition had improved significantly, so she returned to work.
Work had been busy, and she hadn’t had time to find Jiang Xue. If Jiang Rui hadn’t mentioned yesterday that the Jiang Family elders were investigating Jiang Xue again, she wouldn’t have come. After all, she had to go to work later.
"Sister Ru, what is it? Do we need to find a place to sit and talk?" Jiang Xue looked at An Ru’s serious expression, and couldn’t help but put away her smile.
She arrived a bit early today, with half an hour before class. Finding a place to talk wouldn’t delay her.
Unexpectedly, An Ru shook her head and said, "Jiang Xue, there’s no need, it’s just a few words. I’ll leave after speaking, as I have to go to work soon."
"Alright, Sister Ru, go ahead," Jiang Xue nodded, looking at An Ru, unsure what she wanted to say.
"Jiang Xue, be careful lately. Ah Ru mentioned yesterday that the elders are investigating you again. If you need help, feel free to come to me. Here’s my contact information, keep it." An Ru briefly explained, then slipped a piece of paper into Jiang Xue’s hand and prepared to leave.
However, after taking a few steps, she stopped and said, "Oh, right, Jiang Xue, they might try to get your hair."
"Okay, I’m off to class now. I’ll find you next time when I’m free," An Ru said, then hurried out of the campus.
Jiang Xue thought of seeing An Ru off, but when she looked up, she saw a car parked outside the campus, presumably An Ru’s.
So she glanced at the note An Ru left, put it in her pocket, and then drove her car to the parking lot before heading to class.
However, the person secretly watching Jiang Xue noticed her talking to An Ru and saw An Ru giving her a note. Their eyes glimmered, then they stepped aside to call Si Ye.
Si Ye was surprised to hear An Ru had contact with Jiang Xue and instructed his subordinate, "Keep a close watch, find out what’s going on between her and An Ru."
After giving instructions, Si Ye started pondering.
One is a village girl, the other is the third young mistress of the Jiang Family. What’s the connection between these two? But he couldn’t figure it out right then, so Si Ye didn’t dwell on it.
What he wanted to know the most now was whether Jiang Xue had something on her. Otherwise, why would it cause their bodies pain, yet the hospital couldn’t find anything?
Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but look at his own hand. Ever since that day of pain, this hand has been perfectly normal, without a single issue.
Even after he got a medically-trained friend to examine it, there was still no problem. This left Si Ye confused and unsure of how Jiang Xue managed it.
The morning classes went smoothly; no one came to trouble Jiang Xue, neither Luo Weiwei nor Liu Meimei made a move. One acted as if she didn’t see her, while the other looked at her with hatred but restrained herself from doing anything.
Jiang Xue was quite surprised that Luo Weiwei managed to hold back. It seems Luo Weiwei isn’t without her redeeming qualities.
Though at lunchtime, Jiang Xue ran into Lan Chen again. Seeing him, Jiang Xue’s face turned unpleasant, and without a second glance, she walked past him.
Unexpectedly, as she walked past Lan Chen, he suddenly spoke up, "Junior, I’ve broken up with Luo Weiwei."
Jiang Xue was stunned hearing that, somewhat puzzled. His breakup, what did that have to do with her? What a lunatic.
