"This is Dad’s favorite, pig’s ears." Jiang Xue showed one of the dishes to Father Jiang, then put it down. She picked up another dish and turned to Mrs. Jiang, saying, "Mom, this is your favorite, spicy chicken."
"Let me see!" Mrs. Jiang said as she took the dish and then remarked, "It really is spicy chicken. It’s been a long time since I had it, my daughter is the best."
"Of course!" Jiang Xue replied proudly, then took out the rest of the food and placed it on the small cabinet.
"What about yourself, didn’t you buy anything you like?" Mrs. Jiang asked, watching Jiang Xue set up the meal.
"How could that be?" Jiang Xue said while pointing to another dish, "This is what I like."
"Let me see what you bought?" Mrs. Jiang said as she looked toward another dish, which turned out to be mushrooms and greens, and couldn’t help but say, "Xue’er, you bought meat dishes for us, but you’re eating greens?"
"Mom, listen to you, what do you mean I bought meat dishes for you. Are you not going to let me eat them too?"
"How could that be?"
"Then it’s fine." Jiang Xue said as she picked up a portion of rice and some dishes, handing it to Father Jiang, saying, "Dad, eat up!"
Afterwards, she poured out the soup she had bought and set it aside to cool, waiting for Father Jiang to drink it after finishing his meal. Fortunately, they brought enough bowls, otherwise there wouldn’t have been anything to serve it in.
