Chapter 265: Madly in love?
Diana finished most of her work beforehand so when Maxim left to check on his patients, she did not tag along with him.
Instead, she stayed back to grab herself a strong coffee. The built-up stress inside her was screaming for some release.
But just as she had taken a step towards the pantry, she spotted a familiar face in the distance.
Veronica was standing in the corner, her gaze fixated on her.
These past few days, Veronica never once crossed paths with her or any other staff members. She just did her work diligently and even when someone talked to her, she would avoid them.
A few times, Mary had doubted whether Veronica was possessed by some ghost or traumatized by Alex because according to according, a calm and peaceful Veronica like this was a bizarre sight to see.
Just when Diana thought that Veronica would turn around and leave like usual, the woman surprised her by approaching her.
Diana carefully stepped back while gazing doubtfully at the coffee in her hand, ’’I don’t mind your free coffee or wine skin treatment but not today,’’ she looked at her pristine white blouse.
Initially, she had found it weird to be stingy because she had never had to think about what makeup or jewelry, or outfit to wear before. If a few things were ruined, she did not bother to care as well.
But now, Diana had no qualms about being unabashedly stingy. She earned this fucking money! Damn anyone who ruined the outfits she bought!
Being an heiress and being an employee was a totally different thing. And she liked the feeling of living on paychecks better than inheritance.
