Crashing into an Old Flame

Chapter 262: She was four or three

Albeit reluctantly, Maxim released her hand but when Diana reached Louis’ bed, she could feel Maxim’s towering presence right behind her. And one of his powerful arms settled on the small of her back.

A simple gesture yet it made her feel like she was safe as long as he was there. And if things were to go out of control, then he would pull her behind to protect her like he always did.

But Diana knew that things might not go to the extreme. Louis was acting this way perhaps because his demands were not being met and after the issue with his team of lawyers that ran from the hospital with their tails tucked between their legs, his ego was hurt.

’’It’s just a matter of few days,’’ Diana did not beat around the bush.

When he looked up at her, his eyes flashed with a hint of recognition as if he noticed her presence only at that particular moment.

His expression was slightly nonchalant towards her and seeing him calm down, two of his subordinates who were holding his legs in a death grip gradually released him.

Elder Qin looked at Diana hopefully when Louis calmed down, wishing for her to knock some sense in Louis’ head.

’’You told me that you have important things to do before you die. Then, live,’’ When he remained quiet, Diana took it as a form of encouragement. Taking a deep breath, she continued, ’’It’s just a matter of few days. Keeping you here in the hospital is for your own good. Once you meet the criteria, you will be discharged from the hospital and then you can go wherever you want and do whatever you want...’’

’’You haven’t left the hospital yet?" Louis cut her off with a question.
