Chapter 30: She is in danger
Finally, he understood something of what was happening. She was being forced and had been beaten.
Judging by the marks all over her body, she had probably been beaten by many people.
The clothes she was wearing were not the same as before.
She had bought new clothes.
But now they were torn to shreds.
He approached her, not caring about anything else.
"Miss Jessy, it’s me, Louis. Do you recognize me?"
She looked at him, her eyes trembling with fear. She tried to scream again and then once more. Four times, until finally her eyes seemed to clear.
It was then that she was able to look at him silently.
She wanted to speak, but couldn’t. But seeing that she was now calm, Louis removed the rope that tied her mouth.
He noticed that some of her teeth were broken, her gums were completely swollen, and her cheeks had large bruises.
