Chapter 465: It wasn’t her fault
"Who are you?" Cedric managed to say without his voice breaking.
The lady pulled away, she could not hold his gaze. Cedric noticed how tensed up she became with her eyes wandering around. She was nervous. Her lips parted but nothing came out.
She looked exactly like the painting. She looked so much like him, it answered the question of what Cedric would look like if he were a woman.
He drew in a deep breath then swallowed. "Please just tell me," he begged. She nodded, and a shaky voice answered. " The woman who gave you life." She answered.
Cedric backed away shaking her head. "Impossible, my mother is long dead." He blurted staring at the woman who claimed to be his mother
A lady who could be mistaken for his sister due to the striking resemblance. She didn’t look anything close to thirty.
"I am sorry, I didn’t mean for things to be this way. I understand if you are not ready to accept me, but I am the woman who gave birth to you, although I don’t qualify as your mother." She replied, her voice was smooth.
"No mother abandoned their child." She added. Cedric hissed and a sharp pain struck his head. Her voice echoed in his head, and the next thing, everything went dark; her panic screams were the last thing he heard.
