Chapter 423: His suspicion
The appearance of Evelyn at their door made Abrielle wary, even before she spoke. Her stomach churned, thinking of what Cedric was implying.
Abrielle could not imagine that possibility. It was impossible if Abrielle was not a Nightshade, then she would shatter everything she believed in.
The question she has always been asking herself comes to mind again, was this truly the world of the priestess and dragons? Or she entered another world with a similar world build? Nothing made sense at this point anymore.
The candles on the walls flickered lightly as the curtain at the end of the passage fluttered letting in the chill night breeze. The Tension was thick, and from Evelyn’s body language, the way her eyes moved and how tense she was, it was safe to assume the worst had happened.
"Something just happened, your highness." Evelyn’s voice was shaking, her eyes unable to focus.
Cedric’s eyes narrowed. The estate was pretty large, but he could sense it. Abrielle held Evelyn’s hand trying to get her to relax. "Try to take some breaths, everything will be fine," Abrielle said even if she did not believe herself.
Cedric closed his eyes like he was focusing on something. His jaw clenched and he opened his eyes. "Who is at the gate?" Cedric asked, and Evelyn was a bit stunned. She had no idea of Cedric’s exceptional hearing.
The gate was could not hear what was happening in detail. He could only hear snippets of the commotion by concentrating on the sounds but it was too far away.
"Lucian and the crown prince knight regime." She explained. Cedric hissed, then glanced at Abrielle, "Gather your bags, we are leaving ", Cedric instructed Evelyn, then gave a look to Abrielle. She was surprised by his instructions.
