The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband

Chapter 311: A dead end

"I did find something, but its importance depends on you," Aurora mentioned, leaving Cedric puzzled by what she meant.

The carriage rolled slowly down the road. The seaside castle wasn’t far from the crescent palace. Cedric was calm, he needed to assess what she had to say. "Just go straight to the point."

"Fine then, I did look further into the princess’s jewellery dealings and confirmed that the money she had saved up was withdrawn days before she went missing by Zoltana."

Aurora then went ahead to explain her findings. Abrielle was indeed planning her escape from Vitalis for a while since the winter but she wasn’t certain if she could easily waltz out of the plot.

But that changed when she had the quest notification.

"From my investigation, it seems like she wasn’t sure about whether to leave or not until the Fourth day of the rose duel. According to what I heard, Zoltana suddenly appeared at dusk for an emergency withdrawal where everything she had Saved up was withdrawn instantly. She mentioned it was an emergency.."

Aurora’s voice was soft and careful, she knew Cedric was currently a ticking time bomb and didn’t want to say anything that would make him lose it

"So she wasn’t certain about running away until the fourth day of the rose duel. That was the day the letter came in from the palace." Cedric mentioned, so it was Eleanor that made her panic. Why did she have to take such an outrageous step without talking to him first?

Cedric’s mind trailed, remembering how strained their already bad relationship got after he returned from Vesper. All this started due to the letter that miraculously got to Callista instead of Abrielle.
