Chapter 146: Royalty from Galvai
Her heartbeat slowed with her nose buried in his chest. He smelled nice, she thought, and she wanted to stay like this for a while, but some sense was slapped into her brain.
What was she doing? Her eyes snapped up staring back into those gold eyes that seemed to be an endless pool. Abrielle nervously gulped, how long has he been behind her? How much did he hear? She wondered feeling a bit nervous.
She knew Cedric was going to make a big issue out of this and honestly didn’t want died because of some annoying confession by Alfonso. "I ran into him on my way to the banquet hall. I didn’t know you were waiting for me." She mentioned. Her hands pressed against his chest wanting to create some space between them.
"And you had the patient to listen to his rubbish. I prefer it if you don’t get too cosy with my family, especially Alfonso. I am sure you don’t want to hear any nasty rumours." Cedric mentioned tilting her face to stare at his. He was wearing a gold mask although of a different design.
"I understand, we need to get going." She replied to him; it was a bit difficult to hold his gaze when it felt like those eyes could see through her.
Cedric smiled and then leaned forward towards her; her heart jumped inside her chest, nervous he was about to kiss her. What was wrong with Cedric? Was he not scared that Callista might see them?
Her eyes subconsciously closed, Cedric was so close she felt his warm breath that had a hint of wine in them on her face. His lips brushed against hers, making her bite inside her cheeks.
He didn’t kiss her; instead, he chuckled, his voice very close to her ears. "Why are your cheeks so red?" He asked her, she wasn’t blushing earlier but his statement made her blush so hard. She could not believe she expected him to kiss her.
"Try to behave; we can’t afford any drama happening during this banquet," Cedric warned on a serious matter that probably meant she was seen as trouble by the entire royal family. Abrielle snapped her head at him, glaring at him.
