The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband

Chapter 127: Lunch with the main characters

The room was brightly lit with a chandelier hanging in the middle of the room, and the table filled with food. There was no way just 4 people could finish it. This was the same gloomy dining room where she had her meals. The vibe was different this time around.

Abrielle walked over to the table and took a seat next to Cedric, " You look pale," Cedric whispered in her ears as she sat down, making them look intimate to others. A tired smile graced Abrielle’s face. She truly didn’t know how to mask her true emotions.

The meal officially started with the maid helping to serve the dishes, Lucian seemed to be the only talkative on the table. He was informing Cedric about their new findings from the investigation.

Abrielle was a bit surprised that he didn’t mind sharing this information when she was there. The princess did her best to make her presence as little as possible, eating quietly, but in life, you never get what you want.

Cedric’s gaze didn’t leave her for a second during their conversation. This made her nervous wondering what she did wrong this time around. When she was nervous, her actions were clumsy, and she couldn’t even cut her food properly. Why couldn’t he just give her a second break?

Her plate was taken away from her, making her snap her head at Cedric, who was now cutting the clunks into small pieces. Her brows furrowed. Did he think she could not cut them? She thought with a faint blush creeping on her cheeks. That was embarrassing and against etiquette. What would the guest think of her?

She was so useless that cutting her food was a chore. "You don’t have to do that, I can manage." She muttered to Cedric, her eyes glancing at Lucian and Callista. Lucian pretended not to see a thing while Callista was stunned. "But I want to." He answered, being a man, a few words.

Abrielle nervously swallowed She was trying her best to be invisible, and he kept on doing things like this. "Here," Cedric said, giving her back her plate. Everything was cut perfectly. It felt like he was treating her like a child.

"I am glad you are getting pretty long." Lucian couldn’t help but comment. It felt like he was looking at an alien because that man wasn’t the Cedric he knew. As soon as Abrielle came in he changed.

Abrielle didn’t say anything but smile; she doubted they got along. The only time there was no chaos between them was when they were consumed by their lustful desires. Something she hated to admit. She turned her attention to her food trying her best just to stuff her mouth with food.

Luckily, this time, Cedric spared her, turning back to the guests. He was rather hospitable for someone who disliked his step-siblings, but it was most likely due to Callista. Maybe he wanted to leave a good impression, but why was his attention focused on her?

’ Don’t think much about it; you will never figure him out.’ she advised herself, which she took.
