Chapter 124: Plans are ready
"What are you doing?" She asked him as she nervously clung to him. Knowing how rapidly the switch in his head can flip, she was quite daring questioning him like this. It was fine; Abrielle had already come to terms with the fact he made her do the dumbest things.
Cedric always made her lose her cool, and in the end, she made a lot of dumb mistakes after a lack of proper evaluation. "You said you wanted a warm soak, my bath house is more relaxing than a tub." He casually answered. She bit her lips as she stared back at his side profile.
What was Wrong with him? Did the drug make him lose a couple of his nuts? For starters, he was meant to Despise her, especially now Callista was in the story; the original Cedric would rather bleed to death than touch his wife due to his feelings for Callista.
He never touched Abrielle except from when they consummated the marriage. Yet this Cedric didn’t have any issues with destroying her insides with his member and now he was acting too nice in her opinion. She had expected he would leave after the deed was done in the morning to the palace.
"Who did it?" She asked and felt his muscles go taunt. "You should not bother much about that and focus on taking care of the castle." His voice was cold this time around. Finally back to the guy she recognized.
"Well, I deserve to know when I was at the receiving end. Honestly, if you are worried I might do something stupid, don’t be. The last thing I need is to get unnecessary enemies, but I deserve to know who to avoid for my safety." Abrielle suggested, Cedric didn’t answer and continued walking towards the bathhouse. The door opened and they entered the room filled with mist.
Cedric placed her at the edge of the heated pool that had a warm spring in the middle. Honestly, she didn’t understand how something like this was designed in this world, but the warm water was indeed soothing.
"If you want to avoid everyone that stands a threat, a piece of advice: avoid my entire family." He answered, he was behind her as he spoke. His hands held the brim of her dress he pulled off leaving her completely naked.
She was stunned to realize she was wearing just the night dress. Why would a maid do that? His advice was not wrong. She was fully aware of that fact, but she was genuinely curious about who drugged him. This didn’t happen at this point of the plot, and when it did, the person behind it was Eleanor, who wanted to set Cedric up with a foreign princess.
"That was not a direct answer," Abrielle sneered; she slipped into the water and was glad it was shallow, knowing she didn’t know how to swim. "Don’t stray too far from the edge; the farther you go, the deeper the water. We both know you can’t swim." Cedric advised her. He was stripping off his clothes before joining her.
Abrielle averted her eyes for her sanity’s sake. It was hard staring at his face not to talk of his entire body. "It’s not my fault; I can’t swim. I never got to learn. As the only child with a weak constitution, my mother didn’t want to take any risks." She answered drawing the conversation. She heard Cedric enter the water. Luckily, he swam far away towards the centre, which she was grateful for.
