Chapter 33: Trial of Blood (4)
The third trial was a trial by combat.
However, it was different from the first trial which had also been a trial by combat.
Instead of being a trial of slaughter, this was a trial of force.
That meant that this was a one on one battle.
There was this large demon dog that had been sleeping in the room when I entered and it woke up the moment that I came in. As soon as it woke up, it looked at me with a fierce look and started snarling at me.
But I didn’t panic as I looked calmly at the demon dog.
In fact, I was looking at the demon dog like I was looking at a cute dog instead of a fierce looking dog that seemed like it could tear me apart with a single bite.
This dog was known as a Hell Hound. It was said to have descended from the mighty Cerberus that was supposed to be the gatekeeper of Hell.
However, someone like me knew that this was nothing more than flavour text to help enhance the lore of the game. I knew the truth behind the Hell Hound which was that it was the pre evolution form of the Cerberus.
But this Hell Hound was still considered a powerful opponent.
In the game, this would have been considered a late mid game boss, something that an early game character like me wouldn’t have been able to defeat. Even if I was more of a late early game character because of the shared stats.
