Chapter 24: Undead Society (3)
I didn’t say anything as I looked at the person that said this.
When they saw me looking at them, they couldn’t help flinching and moving back a bit as if they were being pushed back by something.
It was the pressure that I was releasing that made them move back like this.
However, I didn’t say anything as I waited to see what else they would say.
That person opened and closed his mouth a few times, as if he was trying to say something. It was only after a while that he finally stammered out, "Is there something wrong with those that are stronger taking the resources of those that are weaker? That is just how the world works."
I still didn’t say anything as I looked at this person after he said this.
Then I turned my eyes and looked at the others that were with this person.
Though they seemed like they were still afraid of me, I could tell from the looks on their faces that they didn’t seem to disagree with this person. It even seemed like they thought that what he said was correct.
I slightly knitted my brows seeing this, or I would have if I still had brows.
So instead, the flames that were in my eyes seemed to stoke themselves as they became a bit more intense.
When they saw this, it was as if they recognized something, but they just couldn’t tell what it was.
