Chapter 214: Watching The Stars (Part One)
Darkness chased Annalise as she ran through the dark and lifeless woods, her bare feet bleeding after getting scratched from the sharp stones or branches that were scattered all over the ground.
Her white dress was a complete mess as it was torn from various places, dirt and blood was covering it, and it looked nothing like something she would ever want to wear. Her hair looked no better than her dress or the rest of her body.
She was exhausted beyond words but her legs still refused to stop as she needed to save herself from the darkness that was chasing her.
"You can never run away from me, so don’t even try."
Annalise’s feet somehow picked up speed as she ran even faster once those words chased after her without any mercy.
"I’m the one who completes you."
"Denying the truth won’t change it. You can try running away from reality but it won’t stop chasing you until it has trapped you right where it wants."
The words kept chasing after her along with the darkness, trying its very best to capture her and never let her go. It carried fear... the same one that was trying to claw at her.
Annalise suddenly noticed the fog clearing from front of her, allowing her to take a look at the path upfront. That was how she was able to stop herself right before she could have stumbled down the edge of the high cliff that was awaiting her.
