Chapter 120: Lakeshire Town
"His character is so warm, welcoming, gentle, and loving despite ice being his first element... is all because of his air element," Kenric told her exactly what she had already concluded.
She probably didn’t encounter Valerius’ air element directly but it was undoubtedly the first thing that pulled her toward him. She only became close to him all because of his gentle attitude and warm heart that pulled her like a magnet.
"Then what about your earth element? Why did I never feel its presence in this entire past month?" She asked curiously and at the same time, realized that it had been neatly three weeks since she got married and very soon, it would be an entire month.
"I have no idea, Little Bird. This is my first marriage too and you are my first and only mate, everything is so new to me too. Besides, unlike Valerius, I don’t know much about this soulmate thing because I never paid much attention to the topic." Kenric answered as they rode past a little stream that was flowing through the forest that was filled with bright sunlight, unlike the Enchanted Forest.
"Fire is my core power and it was the first one to come out and play with your powers. As for my earth element, it hadn’t felt the same pull to your powers yet." There was a sadness clearly visible in his voice as he lightly squeezed her with his arms as if to assure himself that she was still with him.
Annalise immediately placed her hand above his that was resting on her belly. She was completely clueless about the lack of interaction between her powers and his earth element but since his core element was already deeply involved with her, they were undoubtedly potential soulmates. Besides, there was no denying the intense attraction between them.
She heard him let out a small sigh before he spoke, "It’s alright, I’m sure my earth will surely stop being stupid soon enough..." He moved his face closer to her ear before he continued, "... and I can hardly wait for that moment to arrive."
Annalise felt her heart beating faster as her mind recognized the hidden meaning behind his words. So far, she had already consummated her marriage with Valerius and Damien but she and Kenric still hadn’t completed that last ritual of their husband and wife status. But even that didn’t mean they both hadn’t done anything at all in the bed. He was actually the one who knew her body the most and could easily make her go weak in her knees with a single touch of his fingers, or lips.
She shivered at the thought of his hands roaming over her body and his mouth trailing kisses down her throat to her collarbone before he would further indulge her into the deep ocean of pleasure.
She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath to control her thoughts that had started running astray. When she next opened her eyes, she had her thoughts and her body mostly in control but the chuckle from Kenric and even her other husbands who had been riding at a little distance in silence all this time, made her realize that they were pretty obvious of her struggles.
