Chapter 119: The Second Elements
Annalise watched in silence as the lush trees passed by while she and her husbands rode forward on their horses. The trees and bushes were almost passing in a blur as they were riding at a very fast speed.
It was early in the morning and they still needed a couple of hours to arrive at Lakeshire Town. While her husbands seemed really serious about whatever secret mission they had to complete in the town, Annalise was still clueless about what was so important that they were going to do in such a faraway place.
"What are you thinking about so deeply?" Kenric asked while pulling her out of the deep ocean of her thoughts. One of his hands was securely wrapped around her waist while the other was holding the reigns of his horse.
Annalise let out a small sigh as she relaxed into her husband’s arm. "How come I have no idea that you guys have control over more than one element?" She asked the question that had been bugging her non-stop ever since the previous night.
Kenric remained silent for a couple of seconds as if he wasn’t expecting such a question from her and was unaware of how to answer her but he finally did after a while. "Not all three of us, only Valerius and I possess second elements, Damien’s shadow powers already gave him the possession of various unique skills that’s why he never tried to control another element. Besides, with me and Valerius each having two elements, and Damien with his shadow powers, we make the perfect and complete circle of elemental magic."
Annalise listened carefully and tried to read between his lines, searching for the information that he wasn’t providing directly to her but still giving the needed hints. "So, up ur second power isn’t from birth but something that you learned to control later."
She wasn’t really asking for information because she already knew that such a thing was indeed possible but was mostly adopted by either those from the royal families or those from the higher classes. Not only that but only one among thousands of people had the ability to master another element if they were already born with the possession of one element.
Obviously, being born with an elemental core inside their bodies was also not a simple thing, it only happened if the child belonged to a powerful family who also had natural control over elements.
Finding that all her husbands were not only born with different elemental cores but they were also strong enough to take control of other elements, she was beyond surprised. Every time she thought that her husbands won’t be able to shock her further with their secrets, they end up proving her wrong.
"Exactly! Valerius had ice core but he was barely five months old when he picked his second element. As for me, I picked my second element when I turned seven years old while Damien decided to focus his entire attention to learn all the secrets, spells, charms, and runes of his shadow power."
