Chapter 70: The Dark Lords and Their Magical Cores
Annalise watched as the castle disappeared from her vision behind the huge trees that were growing all over the mountain. It was finally the morning when she was leaving her new home with her husbands to travel to a faraway place.
"Are you that sad about leaving the castle and your servants?" Kenric asked as he brought his horse closer to the window of the carriage from where she had been gazing at the outside view.
Even though there was a sad expression covering her face, she still shook her head slowly in response to his question which made him shake his head as a smile bloomed on his lips. "We will return within a month, Little Bird. Besides, you still have time to change your mind about coming with us. None of us will blame you if you decided to stay here."
The question was barely out of his mouth before Annalise was already shaking her head hurriedly without wasting even a single second. She indeed felt bad about leaving the castle and the others behind but even that couldn’t change her mind about following her husbands on their journey.
This time, it wasn’t just a smile but a beautiful chuckle from her husband that greeted her in response, and it somehow made her relax too.
"Don’t think too much. This one month will pass just in a link and you won’t even realize it. Besides, we have decided to introduce you to all the fun things and new experiences along the way as it’s your first time outside the capital. You won’t be left alone, one of us will always be by your side. And we have heard that Lakeshire is a really marvelous town."
The said Lakeshire town was located at the border of the Seelie Empire and it was one of those few places in the empire that had natural magical portals that opened into the mortal realm.
From all that Annalise had learned or heard about that town, it was said to be one of the most beautiful and prosperous towns of the empire. And while she was still not aware of exactly why her husbands had planned to visit that place all of a sudden, she was still looking forward to seeing the popular town with her very own eyes.
The only problem was that the town was located at the western border of the Seelie Empire and it would take them days to get there but only if they didnt encounter any mishaps or bad weather on their way.
Considering it was the middle of the year, rain and bad weather could be expected but not too frequently, and in case they were lucky enough, they would survive without getting caught in the middle of any rain, though Annalise doubted the latter.
