Chapter 39: THEY WERE BEING FOLLOWED
To be honest, this was not Hazel’s first rodeo of being followed, and she could think of a dozen ways to deal with these annoying bastards; but Ranon saw her differently; she was not River, she was Hazel Rose.
His first instinct was to protect his future wife and their child in her womb. How sweet...
"Take a turn on this road; we can shake them off," Hazel instructed. She was not from this city, but she would come here often, so she knew her way around here.
"No, we will go to your home."
"And what are you going to do? Deal with them after?" Hazel raised her brows. It had been a while since she sprang into action; her body itched with the familiarity.
"No." Ranon made a phone call. "Someone else will deal with them."
"If you can deal with it yourself, why would you need someone else to do it?"
"If I can get rid of them without lifting my finger, why should I bother to deal with them?" Ranon retorted; he smirked at Hazel. "If the problem can be solved with money, it’s an easy problem. I don’t deal with something trivial like that."
Well, in a sense, he was right; Hazel hated to admit that. His logic was logical.
"Okay, fine then." Hazel shrugged her shoulders and then slouched back to her seat, turning on the music and relaxing.
This attitude confused Ranon. He glanced at her a few times, and Hazel could feel it until finally, ten minutes before they reached the Rose house, he spoke.
