Terrance thanked Beautifly before continuing, “Your past training has been nothing short of dedicated effort toward the Pokémon Contest, but because of that, you and Mismagius share the same weakness.”
“In terms of explosive power, you’re no match for Altaria, Arcanine, Gallade, or Castform.”
“If you want to get stronger, that’s where we need to focus.”
After a moment of thought, Terrance said, “Mismagius excels in energy control, and you possess top-tier coordination skills along with your Airflow Perception. They put you both at the peak in certain areas. However, if you could develop explosive power comparable to Altaria and the others, your strength would make a massive leap!”
Whether it was Beautifly’s coordination techniques or Mismagius’s illusion skills, both were unique and have highly strong individual styles. Unfortunately, they lacked decisive, high-powered moves in battle—a weakness Terrance had pointed out.
Mismagius had always centered its training around illusion skills and had already achieved impressive results. Now, Terrance was considering training its other moves to increase their power. When combined with illusion skills, the stalling effect of illusion skills can be maximized!
As for Beautifly, Terrance’s feelings were more complicated. For a while, he had considered letting Beautifly take a break at the Gym, accompanying everyone at Old Green House. Yet, Beautifly’s actions time and again showed its desire to continue fighting alongside Terrance in other fields.
