...
"Wait, what?" Pagast was dumbfounded by the contents of the golden screen before him.
Before he could make sense of it, a golden hammer descended upon his head from above, coming down with a world-shattering force.
Pagast raised his ice swords to block and sank downward like a nail.
Right after, Pagast shot back up, barraging Alora with torrents of frost attacks.
The two of them streaked across the planet, gold and white ice intertwined endlessly, covering the whole mini planet.
But even as Pagast fought, he sensed that something was deeply wrong.
That mission he saw just now on the mission board flashed in his face.
He couldn’t believe it, was the Primordial Lion really intent on destroying him?
As if to confirm his thoughts, the numerous magic shuttles around them drew closer and closer to the fight scene.
The killing intent was very thick right now and Pagast could feel the gaze of many powerful beings locking on him.
Shawty and dozens of lion Queens suddenly landed on the mini planet the fight was happening on, destroying all the ice around them.
"Alora, or is it Primordial Lion?" Shawty called as she walked over to them.
Rocks were blasted apart as the planet trembled.
The fight was devastating and the shockwaves would destroy countless ordinary creatures.
Still, Shawty kept her smile and her killing intent.
"Primordial Lion, allow us to help you out, you must be tired," Shawty said as the Lion Queens behind her all nodded, killing intent flashing in their eyes.
Alora was blasted back into the sky but a golden ice platform stopped her from going too far.
"Oh," Alora said, "Carry on them," The hammer in her hand dissolved and she folded her arms.
She was just about to transform into her lioness form but since these kind ladies were about to intervene, she stayed her hand.
"Yes, Kael, thank you for this opportunity," One lioness spoke with excitement as her body began to change.
Most of them were tier 6 or tier 5, their auras combined to create stunning effects across the multicolored void of Leonine Heaven.
"Wait, what are you doing?" Pagast panicked.
*BAM BAM BAM!*
Three strikes from three different places hit Pagast, each of them was heavy and capable of shaving large chunks of a continent.
The ice that Pagast hurriedly created to protect his body shattered into countless bits and pieces.
He flew from one mini planet to the other, not having time to rest as he was constantly defending himself.
"This is unfair!" Pagast shouted, transforming into his true lion form in the process.
His pristine white mane fluffed out and his white furred body brimmed with the might of a Lion King.
"That’s enough!" Pagast slashed out with his claws, instantly bathing the mini planet before him with the cold light of his frosty heart.
Shawty, bathed in three different types of flames, dived straight into the blizzard, shielding her Alliance Sisters who rushed after Pagast behind her.
Just because Pagast asked them to stop didn’t mean that they would.
"Just tell us what we need to know," Shawty demanded.
She was confident in their numbers and didn’t see a need to transform.
From the mission, achieving Objective 2 was far more profitable. And it also mentioned that they could use any means necessary.
For lions, the only means they could think of in such a scenario was violence.
"I don’t know anything! These are false accusations!" Pagast still held on, powering himself with the very Conquering Essence that he had gotten from the system as a Lion King.
The extra power pool provided by the heavenly beacon was very helpful to him.
It didn’t give him special ice powers like the golden ice Alora was wielding, but it enhanced his powers greatly.
Alora watched this with a calm expression and her arms folded against her breasts. The part consciousness within her stirred with budding interest.
Kael could have locked the Conquering Essence pool belonging to Pagast. It was something he could do as a tier 6 lion wasn’t necessarily too strong for him to not be able to withstand.
Locking up Pagast’s Conquering Essence would be very good and it would make it easier to defeat him.
But Kael calculated some unlikely variables and decided against it.
This battle was currently happening in front of hundreds of thousands of lions and thousands of lion kings were here or on their way.
If they all found out that the Primordial Lion could lock away their special powers through the system, it could lead to disastrous effects.
Best-case scenario, they stop joining the Lion System, or some of them try to leave or remove their identity marks.
Worst-case scenario, this act serves as fuel for the Anti-Primordial Coalition to feed on, leading to a prolonged civil war.
Kael knew he would have to kill a lot of lions and he didn’t want a case where he would have to wipe out half the lions just to achieve heavenly victory.
By that time, if he won, the lion civilization would take a lot of time and resources to recover.
The dragons would practically dance their way into Leonine Heaven at that point.
That was what Kael was worried about, the time and resources that would be spent because of the war, not the lions themselves.
Hence, his reason for not locking down Pagast’s Conquering Essence in front of everyone.
Still, it didn’t really matter. Pagast was going to fall today, one way or the other.
He was the scapegoat now. Kael had always wanted to test what it would be like to order the prideful lions around with nothing but a mission prompt.
This was no different from using a sword to kill an enemy a thousand miles away.
So ruthless, so efficient.
Hundreds of beams streaked through the multicolored sky, cannon blasts from the numerous shuttles.
Seeing the Lion Queens already attacking Pagast, the other lions were very impatient.
It would only take them less than a minute to fly to the mini planets with their magic Shuttles but to them, it felt like eternity.
Anything could happen, what if Pagast died before they arrived? That’s what they thought.
They sent out different cannon beams, hoping to land a hit so that they could be recorded as a contributor and receive rewards.
Pagast, the receiver of all these attacks, was so infuriated. It was so bad that his body was now riddled with injuries and his clothes were stained with blood.
And many more opportunistic looks were making their way.
"Pagast, how could you commit such crimes against the Lion Race?" Exalon’s voice thundered out loud, amplified by the system of his arkship.
Even as he said that, Exalon hates his cannons and aimed them all at Pagast.
Alora smiled. This smile was truly genuine as it came from Alora herself.
She enjoyed this sight that Kael had given her. To watch her father who had been so controlling and did anything to maintain your control, suffer.
The best way to deal with controlling freaks like Pagast was to either avoid them entirely or get ’rid’ of them.
Unfortunately, many of them, like Pagast in this case, were very adept at hiding their true nature.
Only less than fifty minutes remained. Meaning, everyone involved had close to an hour left before the Mission was cancelled.
Surely, that was too much. Kael doubted if they needed more time to deal with Pagast.
And even if they did, he would just create another mission with tempting rewards.
"Wait, let me say something!" Pagast screamed at the top of his voice as he was being pummeled into the planet repeatedly.
It was tiring, and it was painful.
"Guys, wait, he wants to talk," One Lion King who had joined the party spoke up for Pagast.
The others instantly stopped, eager to hear what Pagast had to say.
"Wait, you guys don’t really believe him, do you? I’m innocent," Pagast lamented.
"He’s still talking nonsense, out of my way!" Exalon ordered as another round of cannon beams rained down from the sky, dozens of them.
The other lion Queens and Kings continued their attacks.
Pagast’s cold blood stained the grounds of different mini planets.
But now, the battle had shifted from the headquarters of the Fanged Flower Alliance, to the empty multicolored void of the heavenly sky.
Pagast, suspended by nothing, was destroyed gradually. His formerly magnificent body, dyed in red, broke down.
The only reason he was still alive was that no one wanted to actually kill him, not yet. They still wanted the reward of Objective 2.
"I’ll confess, I’ll confess," Pagast said while spitting out blobs of blood, "It’s the Empress..."
