Chapter 147: I Have A Plan
"I am looking for a perfect match for Diana. Who could be better than you? Damon? Once the deal with the eastern countries is finalized, I will announce your marriage in the celebratory dinner." he laughed, "when the nobles know that you are part of the royal family, who would dare to ignore you or mock you behind your back? And how could a woman threaten your position." he looked at Olivia uneasily, continuing to brag.
Olivia had lost her interest in the idle chatter. Her mind was already racing. In the past, Damon did not get married. He was not a favored ruler by the lords of vassal families. He was accused as his father’s murderer and the nobles were against him.
She knew that most of the rumors were spread by Oriana to keep Damon in check. Yet the royal family did not favor Damon. He had left his territories since barbarians were not defeated well. But now... Damon was a hero!? She had achieved the first step well. Now it was time to ask for her labor.
But what if the princess did not support Leo and Abi? She knew the princess was a haughty woman with a lot of ego. She treats humans as objects because of her spoiled nature.
"No! She had to clear it before Damon committed." she held her dress uneasily as she looked at Damon for his reply.
His majesty was staring at Damon too.
"I will wait for the good news then." Damon nodded. His majesty laughed with a relieved face. He looked at Olivia again with a gaze, she could not understand. Only then did she realize she was holding her dress too tightly. Her grip had ruined the crease.
"Then we must go and prepare for the meeting." William nodded with a smile. It was easier than he had thought. Could his eyes have been wrong? He looked at Olivia again.
The girl did not show any resentment either. Perhaps he was reading too much. After all, Gabriella had already said that Olivia wanted to marry Edward. Even if she could not be an official wife, she could be a good concubine.
