"I am happy as your partner, and that reminds me of our first deal!" she paused to face him. "I have completed my side of the deal , your highness. What about you?" Edward looked at the smiling woman.
She had acted so well. But she did not love him. And he did not love her either. They were only friends and this arrangement was perfect. It would be a waste to mix emotions in their contract.
He shook his head and asked a knight to retrieve a file from his office.
"You do not need to worry, Olivia. I have never broken my promise. Now tell me what would be our next step?" Olivia relaxed as she heard his calm voice.
For a second, she felt something in him had changed. She must be too sensitive!
"It is simple! I have to prove that I am better than Amber and you have to prove that you are better than Elios." Edward sneered at those words.
"I have always been better than him. I never needed support from a woman to prove my worth. But my father is too blind to see it." hearing the resentment in his voice, Olivia sighed.
"No, your highness. You take it wrong. I do not want you to prove yourself to your majesty. But you have to prove it to nobles. Do you know why Damon is called in the palace today?" Edward frowned as he looked at Olivia.
"My father is planning to increase his trade and need another war to clear the routes for eastern countries?" his frown grew deeper. "I am ot fit for war as a knight or a strategist. My strong point is finance! But father has duke Aykroyd for it."
