"Two days!" Nora was stunned. She pulled herself away from Alric to meet his bloodshot eyes. His hair was messy and his clothes had hard water stains.
She remembered he had worn this suit two days ago. Did it mean he was sitting here for two days waiting for her to wake up without even changing his clothes and taking a bath!
For some reason, Nora wrinkled her nose before feeling touched.
"Eww! Did you even not take a bath!?" looking at her ugly face, Alric blinked and then laughed.
He looked helpless by her complaints. But for some reason, his chest felt much lighter. No other words would have made him feel less emotional.
"I could not leave you alone, you ingrate!" he flicked her forehead with an animated frown. "I was afraid that you would feel alone if you woke up suddenly," he sighed. As if he was taking a long breath after a long time. The air felt oddly comforting in his lungs.
"What happened? Why and how did you get the shock?" he asked after a pause. Nora watched his worried face and sighed.
"Do you remember Natalie? The girl I planted in his house?" Alric nodded. He had faked the papers and made sure that the girl would enter the bar easily. From loan sharks to selling her, his men had staged the whole drama.
And since then a man was keeping an eye on Chris’s house. He follows her wherever she goes out. He collected the garbage she threw around. Because she writes messages on each garbage. Last time, she had left two pen drives in the tissues in the cafe.
