"If it had been me, I would have fought the world for you. But never let you suffer." Nora’s grip tightened. She could smell victory in his voice. Her lips curled into a sneer.
"Why would you do that? You do not even know me!" the man on the other side chuckled as if he expected her defiance.
"Who said so, Nora? Your uncle had offered me your hand a long ago. Since then I have been keeping tabs on you. I knew about you and Victor so I decided to watch from the sidelines first.

Nora closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"I will not meet you." hearing the determination in her voice, the call went silent on the other side for a while.
