"Ah! That’s.." the girl played with her hair, not sure how to reply to that. "We are just good friends. I am not sure.."
"So you are not his girlfriend yet." Nora nodded with a smile, making the woman stunned. Chloe bit her lips. She was sure her act would convince anyone even if she did not whisper a word. How could a girl be so dense?
"But we are close enough." she declared only for Nora to laugh with a bemused look.
"He is max! He is close with everyone. Has he proposed to you? Where is the ring?" Chloe’s hands clenched. How could a girl be so brazen?
"Look girl! You are too young. Are you even fit for dating? Do not pursue what could not be yours!" her cute and friendly demeanor was gone completely as she glared coldly at Nora and insulted her.
Others might not hear them, but they could feel Chloe’s ugly expressions. It caught the attention of many.
"If it could not be mine, then could it be yours? What gave you the confidence? Do you even like him or are you behind his position in the hospital? As if Nora could read every thought of Chloe’s mind. Chloe not only panicked but she was embarrassed by this brazen reply.
"You! Who said that I am dating him for his money. I have my own job and house. I.. i.. You are too much." could a man with such a position lack money? Even if he donated now, he would not donate when he had a family.
