Chapter 283: Playing Nice
"You do not seem happy that I visited." Victor smiled at Nora but his eyes were accusing her. She was so stiff during their meal. She hardly replies to them or smiles at them.
"I am just sick, I need some rest."
"You seem fine to me except your mood of course." Victor sighed and ran a hand in his hair, "Nora, if you are having second thoughts, you can tell me." Nora frowned. She shook her head.
"I do not have time for that. You should not have time for that too, Victor. Entrance exams are close. We need to study hard and.."
"No, it is I who needs to study hard. You are perfect with your scores." Victor hissed. "Yet I am not worried. I was waiting for your call all this time. Forget it! Who visited you in the morning?" Nora stared at his doubting eyes. She bit her lips. Knowing well that the answer would only irk him further.
"It was Mr Spencer!" he laughed instantly. A look of understanding filling his cold face.
"Now I get it!" he shook his head. "He is at least a decade and a year older than you. Do you like elderly people? Matured and rich! Huh? Is that why you do not love me?" Nora closed her eyes. She had expected it. But there was a feeling that she was indeed guilty this time.
"You can not talk to me like that, Victor. I have done nothing to be treated like this!" she hissed back. Before Victor could reply, Penny walked from inside. She had a small gift in her hands.
"Victor!" her cheeks flushed due to the run, "here, mother had sent this gift for you." she looked at Nora and Victor and frowned. "Were you guys fighting?"
