"Suddenly the air felt more refreshing. No?" Nora looked away to hide her smile. At least, he was not angry! The way Alric was leaning on the railings and looking at the garden, it almost felt like he was talking about their fragrance.
"Thank you." Nora bowed her head slightly. "And I apologize for my rude behavior." Alric waited, but she did not explain further. He finally turned to look at her.
His sharp and cold eyes looked gloomy for some reason.
"You did not take my help. So, I do not deserve your thankfulness. And I am nothing to interfere in your matters, so you do not need to apologize to me. As you said, we had a deal in the past, it ended when Alex left for the states. And it was better that we do not cross paths in the future." Nora pursed her lips.
That was the truth, but the way he said it felt like sarcasm.
"I do not like owning others." she finally admitted, "it made me feel indebted and i do not know how i have to pay that debt. So I do not want to take it in the first place." finally Alric’s lips curled into a smile.
"I was not indebted to you. I was paying my debt." Nora’s eyes narrowed.
"I have helped Alex because he saved me many times in the past. It was not because of your instructions. He is a rare friend. Even though.. I have lied to him and he might not forgive me, he is a friend to me." For some reason, he finally felt emotions in this cold and indifferent girl. Guilt and regret! Her deal with him must have felt like that.
"You have saved him because of that deal, so do not feel bad about it. And forget what happened. You should study now. If you want, I can help you with a few good questions. I have made detailed notes for my participation last time." he regretted offering the moment he saw uneasiness in her eyes.
