Chapter 223: Nora Has Money
"If you ever decide to leave that cursed family, my family will help you." a girl came forward and gave Nora her card.
Many took the opportunity and passed their card to Nora with some sympathizing words. Even Director Reid looked at her with approval and pride.
"Young girl, come meet me after you clear the exam. I have a good opportunity for you." he patted her shoulders with a proud look.
No one even looked at Penny or scolded her. As if they knew it would be a waste of their breath or they would degrade themselves by talking to Penny anymore.
"You all are making a fuss without reason. Did I say that Nora had harmed me? You have imagined it yourself! Last night, I apologized to her. But she did not forgive me. I felt burdened and came running here to relieve my anger and pain. I did not know what happened afterwards."
Her self righteous words made many sneer and snort. Some even laughed condescendingly.
She had already explained them so many times but they only looked at her as if she was a fool. They said nothing at all to her questions which burdened Penny. She bit her lips hard and her eyes welled with tears. She did not understand why they were accusing her without any proof. She had done nothing wrong. Any student could move freely on the trip.
"You all are bullies. You are cornering me and.."
"And what?" It was Mr summer. "Pennelope Stone. Return to your room and pack your bags. We will be leaving in an hour." he warned her to not speak further. But Penny only felt aggrieved further.
