Chapter 197: The Bet
"Nora! Penny’s parrot is here to meet you." Emma yawned and walked inside the room. She snuggled on her bed and closed her eyes without a care.
Kate blinked. She hesitated if she should walk in or not when Nora came out of the washroom. A towel was wrapped around her hair and a leisurely look on her face. Due to the heat of the water, her face looked rosy and skin looked so soft.
"You do not look sick. Why did you not give the exam then?" It took Kate a few seconds to react. "It was noon! Who takes a bath at this time?"
Noea raised a brow. A cold smile on her face but her eyes looked so dark that Kate took a step back unconsciously. But she stopped when she realized it and raised her head high to show her confidence.
"Why do you care?" Nora tilted her head. She walked toward Kate barefoot.
"Whether it is my exam or the time to take a bath!? Why do you care about it?" The question was so simple. Yet Kate felt so intimidated by the look in Nora’s eyes that she could not reply.
"That... Penny was worried for you. As sisters, you should be more accommodating. Penny is short tempered but she is a very kind girl. If not for your tricks, had she ever raised her voice on you? You have.."Kate had lowered her head and held her dress tightly as she spoke. She felt like a beast was staring back at her.
"Is that it?" Kate took another step back when Nora stood in front of her. "And you say you are not a parrot?" Nora chuckled softly but her eyes were glowering. Her hands came for Kate’s chin and she forced Kate to look at her.
"I have many ways to save you. But you do not want to be saved." Kate frowned and struggled. Her whole attention was on Nora’s grip. She stumbled as she freed herself from Nora.
