Chapter 179: Add My Name
"I only know that Alex and his mother are my reverse scale, Amaya. I would not bear it if they would be harmed in any way." his eyes gouged her every expression but Amaya did not have any reaction except longing.
"I will wait till you will add my name with them, Alric." she whispered softly as she walked closer and placed her hand on his chest. "I have loved you since childhood. You have no one you love, so give me a chance!"
Alric closed his eyes. She was not wrong, she had been chosen by his family too. It would be a strategic marriage. Her family is the biggest pharmaceuticals in the country and he had a chain of hospitals. It is a good proposal overall. But he felt like insects were crawling on his skin when she was touching him. He pushed her away unconsciously.
She looked shocked by his reaction and her eyes dimmed.
"Amaya.." he hesitated but she lowered her head and sighed.
"I know you do not love me, Alric. Do not make it more awkward. As long as there is no one in your life, I am ready to wait for you. It has already been so long, I do not mind a few more years. But only I can match you, Alric. You would never be able to find someone else better than me." she challenged and raised her head with confidence again. "Now go, I will look after him. You look so exhausted."
Alric stared at sleeping Alex. he nodded and left the room.
Amaya stared at the door for a long time as if she was waiting for Alric to return. But when he did not, her eyes slowly dimmed. She walked to Alex and adjusted his blanket. Then she took out a book from her bag and sat on the sofa. Leaning, she read it while occasionally standing up and checking alex.
She smiled and whispered something to him as she patted him and then returned.
