Chapter 155: A Daughter
"It must be expensive! I can not take it right now." Nora stared at the necklace grimly. Victor frowned.
"Nora! We are.."
"After two months. If we continued our relationship by then. I will take it." his eyes dimmed at once. He had spouted nonsense just to get acceptance from her. He had believed that these two months did not matter. She would be moved by tonight and accept him fully. "By then, I would have the status to accept you." she added when she noticed his conflicted look.
Victor shook his head.
"I will wait for you, Nora. I will wait as long as you want me to." he placed the necklace back in the box. "As long as you give me a chance!"
Nora stared at him without a reply. Because she knew she would not be able to return the feelings he wanted from her. A strange urge to run away from here and hide in a dark corner was engulfing every cell of her body.
"I.." the door opened again and two waiters entered. One was holding a large cake. It was a white cake with a couple on it. It looked more like a wedding cake. While the other waiter held a bottle of champagne.
Nora was speechless when she saw the cake. Her eyes widened but Victor waved his hands and took out a large tip for the waiters.
"Serve the food too. My princess is hungry!" Nora flinched the way he addressed her. But he did not notice since he was facing the waiters. She took the time to sit on the chair and poured herself water. But just one look at the cake, and it was hard to drink it. She was afraid her reflux would kick in and she would vomit.
