Chapter 102: Just A Pawn
The moment Nora came to the canteen to have dinner, silence followed. Even the students from the other section were staring at her without eating and whispering in the ears of their friends. Nora ignored them and stood in the line for food.
"There are so many shameless people these days. They do anything to get attention." a girl standing behind her whispered with a sneer. "I heard someone had seduced all the boys in the class to support her."
"Not only that, just to distract others from her, she had placed cheating slips in the pockets of her roommates. Both are rusticated from the school. Poor girls, they could only blame their luck for being the roommate of such a vicious girl." they were not the only ones. Everyone was talking about Nora.
Linda and Lisa were rusticated from the school yesterday. It had created an uproar in the school since the session was going to end. They would not find any other school. Their year would be ruined. Even if they get admission next year, it would only be a mediocre school since no good school would take students that were expelled from the school. Their future was ruined. Many wanted to know the reason. Some said that they had cheated in the exam while others announced that it was Nora. She had placed the cheating slips in their pocket when they were sleeping and then convinced the teacher that they were cheating.
Many didn’t believe it at first. But there were so many rumors spreading about Nora from the past month. They were finally curious to see such an infamous girl. Result? Everyone was now pointing at her and discussing one of the rumors about her in the school forum.
"Was she not having dinner with our idol last time? Why is she sitting alone today?" someone asked when Nora took a corner seat. She started eating alone as if she could not hear any of them.
"Ha! He must have seen her real face and did not want to accompany her anymore. You could not blame him. If I had been at his place, I would have left the school for a few days to get rid of her." They laughed. Many laughed. They all waited for her to cry or shout or create any other kind of scene.
And Nora knew that too well. She was sure Penny’s pawns were sitting on the corner and waiting for her to create a scene so that they could ruin her image further. She could neither bully them nor would she allow herself to be bullied by them.
To their surprise, she folded her leg and leaned on the chair casually and sipped her drink. Then she ate elegantly. Her long fingers were holding the fork. It moved so gracefully and wrapped noodles on it. Then she moved them toward her mouth. Her lips moved ever so slightly. Her collarbone slowly moved and she ate it.
Has anyone ever believed that even eating could be this appealing? Many men who were mocking her earlier found themself staring at her. Even with one injured hand, she looked so mesmerizing that they felt desire filling them.
A young man sitting on the other corner seat was also sipping his drink. He casually looked at the whole scene and smiled, but that smile was mocking.
